Rotating Sushi Restaurant [Uobei] / 回転寿司 「魚べい」

And so we went from a burger shop to a sushi shop. A place called [Uobei] which is part of the Genki Sushi chain.

そしてバーガー屋から回転寿司の店「魚べい」に行きました。「魚べい」は元気寿司と同じ系列だ。

Its kind of fun going out to Itabashi Ward for lunch.  Our nephew is living in a great area with a variety of restaurants and ramen shops to choose from.  I wonder what we will go out to eat when we visit him next time.

板橋区まで行ってランチ食べるのが楽しくなった。甥っ子が住んでるところは結構良い。いろんなレストランやラーメン屋がいっぱいあって、また一緒の食事するも楽しみだ。次はなに食べに行くんだろう？

Kaisen Misakiko / 海鮮 三崎湖

This year on Mother's Day, I have to work and my mother will be heading off to Aomori to spend time with my mother-in-law.  So, we decided to celebrate Mother's Day a day earlier and took my mother to a neighborhood kaiten sushi shop.  This restaurant is located on the basement floor of the Carrot Tower in Sangenjaya and is called [Misakiko].  We all enjoyed a variety of sushi!!

今年の母の日僕は仕事で、お母さんはその日青森に行く予定。僕の義理の母を会いに、二人が十和田湖の温泉旅行に行くんだ。羨ましい！というわけで、母の日は一日早く祝う。お母さんを近くの回転寿司の店「海鮮 三崎湖」に連れてあげた。もちろん私たちのご馳走で。店は三軒茶屋、キャロットタワーの地下にあります。寿司いろいろ食べたよ！

Tsukiji Honten / 築地本店

A few years back when my mother visited Japan, she only had one request for me - to take her to a kaiten zushi place (there still weren't any in the States and it's only a matter of time before kaiten-zushi is included in the lexicon of the English language). Sushi-Go-Round? Conveyor Belt Sushi? Please! And to accommodate her wish, I took her to one of the most popular kaiten-zushi located in Shibuya's senta gai. Mikako and I decided to have our first dinner of 2010 here as well. And now to show you all what I chose:

何年か前に僕のお母さんが一人で日本に遊びに来た。その時、お母さんが一つだけのお願があった。それは回転寿司の店に行きたかったこと。当時アメリカではまだ回転寿司の店は存在してなかった。お母さんは日本のテレビしか見たことない。お母さんの願いを叶うために、渋谷のセンター街に大人気の回転寿司の店「築地本店」に連れてあげた。今年の元旦、私たちの初夕飯はここに決まりました。さて、私が今年食べたネタ紹介するよ：

Otanko / 御旦孤

Before headed into the arena for the Rain concert, we had to eat lunch somewhere. With all the other Rain fans around, and most of the shops playing Rain as background music, everywhere we went was crowded. But there was one restaurant that wasn't using Rain's music and there wasn't a large crowd waiting to get in. Which is why we decided to have sushi for lunch at his place called "Otanko". We all ordered the B lunch special which consisted of 11 different kinds of nigiri sushi. All for 1000yen!

レインのライブに行く前、昼食を食べにいった。レインのファンが多すぎて、どこの店でも結構混んでました。いろんな店が「本日のBGMはRain」と書かれたサインがあちこちにあった。一店舗だけ、そうゆうサインがなくて、あんまり込んでなかったので、その店に決定しました。それは寿司と海鮮の店「御旦孤」でした。ランチセットメニューがあって、私たちはそのBセットを注文。寿司１１貫のにぎりずしとみそ汁で１０００円。

As we unmistakenly went to Saitaima Prefecture where the Railway Museum is located, we decided to have lunch there as well. Mikako was in the mood for some sushi, so we were looking for a kaiten sushi shop. Instead we came upon this restaurant that served a sushi set menu for 1000yen which included miso soup and 19 pieces of sushi. We were served chu toro, squid, maguro, salmon, egg, and shrimps just to name a few. We also ordered some tempura as well.

今回は間違えなく鉄道博物館がある埼玉県大宮市に行ってきました。博物館行く前に昼食。美香子が寿司の気分だったので、回転寿司の店を探してみました。回転寿司の店はみつからなかったが、寿司セットがある店を発見。その名も「江戸前がってん寿司」。一人半前の寿司セットを注文。サイドで海老の天ぷらも注文。値段は思ったほど安くて、寿司と天ぷらもとっても美味しかった。寿司のネタは旬の物も出るとゆう事で、車海老、しらすの寿司を食べました。他にたまご、カツオ、まぐろ、鮭、いか、えんがわ、海老、ネギトロ巻きなど、全部で１９カンでした。
