１１月の週末に、自分の妻が友達とK-ポップのライブに行った為、自分は今週末に開催されてるミャンマーフェスに行きました。珍しく、このフェスは代々木公園でも日比谷公園でもなく、東京タワーの近くにある増上寺に行った。友達のてっちゃんと開場で会う約束した。
It was a beautiful day in November.
凄い良い天気でした。
I made a few stops along the way from the subway station to Zojoji Temple.
駅から増上寺行く途中にいろいろ寄り道した。
The sign gave information about the two wooden Nio-sama statues that are standing in both sides of the gate.

Starting off the festival in the right way by enjoying a Myanmar Beer.
やっぱり最初にやることはミャンマービールを飲む事だ。
And of course, it was time to sample the food.
そして次やることはミャンマー料理を食べる事だ。
As I had forgotten to take pictures of the booths, I cannot remember the names of the dishes we tried. I checked the Myanmar Festival archives and am only guessing if these were the names of the dishes we ate. One of the above dishes is mohinga, a rice noodle and fish soup.
いろんの屋台がどういう料理を提供してる写真を撮り忘れてので、料理名が正しいかどうか分かりません。確か上記の一つの麺類の料理はモヒンガという料理でした。
Perhaps something called acho pooe, a coconut dessert.

屋台ののぼりにミャンマー名物、塩焼きそばと書いてあった。
I think these might be the same dish. Not sure what it's called in Burmese.
同じ麺料理だったかな。ビルマ語の名前は分かりません。
After all that food between the two of us, it was time to walk off some of those calories.
食べ終わったらやっぱりカロリの消化の為歩き回った。
If memory serves me correctly, this is the tree that was given as a gift to Japan by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1879.
僕の記憶が確かならば、この木はアメリカ第１８代の大統領ユリシーズ・グラントが日本の訪問の記念植木です。

After wandering around the temple grounds, my friend and I decided to head over to the Tokyo Tower.
増上寺の境内を探索したあと、友達と東京タワー行くことにした。
This snake, or what looks more like a dragon is considered a power spot and is located in Shiba Park near the Tokyo Tower. I forget the reason why people leave eggs there.
東京タワーの近くにある芝公園の中に蛇塚というものがあります。ここがパワースポットでしられてますが、結構見つかりにくい。友達がたまごを置く理由を教えてくれましたが、全然覚えてない。

I've always wanted to either walk up or down the tower instead of taking the elevator. Still on my bucket list of things to do.
一回くらい東京タワーは階段で登りたかったな。ま、自分のバケットリストにまだあるということだ。
From the Tokyo Tower, my friend and I decided to walk to the Atago Shrine.
東京タワーのあと、次は愛宕神社に行きました。
These are the "Stone Steps to Success". It is called that because it is based on an ancient samurai legend about a young samurai who rode his horse up the steep incline to give the Shogun a gift. The Shogun was so impressed, the future of the young samurai was secured.
これは愛宕神社にある「出世の石段」。日本人ならこの石段に関する伝説はわかると思うので、説明はしません。
The maneki ishi. It says to rub the stone for good luck.
「招き石」。この石をなででて福を身につけて下さいって。
And then it was time to head home. I wanted to get back to the apartment before my wife returned from the concert. All in all, a good day for an adventure.
そろそろ帰る時間になった。妻が帰る前にアパートに着きたかったので、今日の冒険が終了しました。
