A while back I wrote about a small Thai restaurant in my neighborhood of Sangejaya called [Krung Siam].  But sometime between then and now, [Krung Siam] had gone out of business and was replaced by this new place, [Isaan Kitchen].  So, on one of my Saturdays I decided to go here for lunch. 

結構前なんですが、三軒茶屋にあるタイ料理店「クルンサイアム」を紹介した。あれからしばらく行ってなかったが、同じ場所を通ったら、「クルンサイアム」がなくなってた。そこに別のタイダイニング「イサーン・キッチン」に変わった！休日の土曜日にランチをここに行ってみた。

I decided to order their khao man gai (Thai-style chicken rice).  Lunch is served with tom yam soup, a couple of spring rolls, dessert and Chinese tea. All for 950yen.

 

一日１０食限定のカオ・マンガイを注文。カオ・マンガイは鶏肉の炊き込みご飯。生春巻き、トムヤムスープ、デザート、中国茶付き。税込で９５０円ですよ。

Krung Siam / クルンサイアム

On the same day that I treated myself to Moroccon food, at night, Mikako and I went out for some Thai cuisine in Sangenjaya.  Located off Chazawa Dori in a basement of building.  I remember when it used to be a location of a yakitori restaurant that I enjoyed going to.  This Thai restaurant that now occupies the same place has been in business for a while but it was our first visit there.  I ordered the Thai staple of khao phat krapao kai (fried rice with chicken and basil) while Mikako had the khao phat kung (fried rice with shrimp) and we shared a plate of pak bun fai daen (stir-fried Chinese morning glory, also known as water spinach).

二子玉川で一人食べたモロッコ料理の同じ日、夕飯は嫁と一緒に三軒茶屋にあるタイ料理店「クルンさいアム」に行きました。三茶の茶沢通りでビルの地下にあるみせです。昔この場所は僕が良く行った焼き鳥屋でした。何年か前にその店がつぶれて現在このタイ料理店が誕生した。今回初めて行ってみた。自分が注文したのはタイの定番料理ガイ・パット・バイ・ガパオ・ラート・カオ（鶏挽肉のホーリー・バジル炒め）、そして美香子が頼んだのはカオ・パット・クン（海老入りチャーハン）。あと私たちが好きなパックブン・ファイデン（空芯菜のニンニク炒め）も頼みました。

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it but perhaps we are a bit biased as our favorite Thai restaurant is Bahn Kirao in Shimokitazawa.  The stir-fried Chinese morning glory at that restaurant is by far the better tasting. 

こちの店の雰囲気は良いんですが、やっぱり私たちの好きなタイ料理店は下北沢にある「バン・キラオ」。そちの空芯菜炒めは絶品！

Thai Food Market [Siam Talart] / タイ・フード・マーケット 「サイアム・タラート」

Last week, I was having my own Thai movie festival as I watched "Ong Bak 2" and rented "The Bodyguard" and "Talking Dick" (Thai movies) and also rented "Bangkok Dangerous" with Nicholas Cage, not knowing it was a remake of another Thai movie. So when Mikako asked what I wanted to eat for lunch today - Thai food came to mind. Instead of going to our favorite Thai restaurant in Shimokitazawa, we decided to check out a different one in our neighborhood and so we chose the Thai Food Market [Siam Talart]. Mikako chose the kai phat khing (chicken stir-fried with ginger and chilies) while I had the kaeng som (curry noodles) which the menu said is a popular dish in Chang Mai. Our main dishes were also served with tom yam soup, spring rolls, and a strange jello-like dessert.

先週、自分勝手ながら、家でタイ映画祭りをやった。一人映画館で「マッハ：弐」観にいって、うちでタイ映画の「ダブル・マクス」と「トーキング・ディック」を観て、あとニコラス・ケイジ主演の「バンコック・デンジャラス」、タイ映画のハリウッドリーメイクはあとから知った。それで今日美香子がランチに何食べたいと聞かれたら、タイ料理が良いねと答えた。今回私たちが下北沢の好きなタイ料理店じゃなく、うちにもうちょっと近い店に行きました。店の名前はタイ・フード・マーケット「サイアム・タラート」。美香子がカイパットキン （鶏肉の炒め物）で僕はカンソム（カレーラーメン）を注文した。メニューにチェンマイで大人気と書かれてた。トムヤンスープ、春巻き、と変わったデザート付。

The restaurant also serves something I haven't had in a while, which brought back a lot of memories from my two trips to Laos - that would be Beer Lao if you hadn't already guessed.

この店にも僕ながい間見つからなかった商品があった。思い出の品とも言える。ラオスの旅を思い出さしてくれる一品。それはもちろんビールラオだ！

Sai Thai / サイ・タイ

The Narita Airport / Bon Jovi episode wasn't a complete lost. At least we had a nice lunch at this Thai restaurant in the Skyview Food Court. The green curry was calling to me as Mikako enjoyed a Tom Yam Ramen.

成田空港でボン・ジョヴィ見れなかった事件があったが、唯一良いことは美味しいタイ料理を食べただけ。グリーンカレーが食べたかった。美香子は好きなトムヤムらーめんを。

Bahn Kirao / バン・キラオ

Today we celebrated a couple of friends birthday in Shimokitazawa at this Thai restaurant. It is me and Mikako's favorite place to go eat Thai food.

今日は友達二人の誕生会があって、下北沢にあるタイ料理店のバン・キラオでやりました。ここは僕と美香子の一番気に入りのタイ料理店です。

We met at the restaurant at two in the afternoon. As there was nine of us and two kids and the restaurant was still offering their lunch menu, we ordered all six lunches available which included green curry, tom yam ramen, beef ramen, phat thai (Thai style stir fried noodles), khao sawy (a Shan or Yunnanese egg-noodle dish with chicken or beef), and khao man kai (Hainanese dish of sliced steamed chicken over rice cooked in chicken broth and garlic) - I can fill you on the details with the food as I have my handy "World Food: Thailand" book with me. But with 9 adults, the lunch specials were gone in less than thirty minutes.

待ち合わせ時間が午後二時。大人９人と子供二人が参加して（一人の子供はまだ生後六ヶ月ですけど）。時間的にまだランチタイムサービスもやってて、そのランチスぺシャル全六種類を注文しました。今日のスペシャルは牛すねラーメン、トムヤムラーメン、タイ風焼きそば、カオマンガイ、鶏肉グリーンカレー、とカオソーイ。 大人が９人なんで、ランチスペシャルは３０程度で全部食べました。

The following pictures are the various dishes we ordered which includes fried morning glory, deep fried soft shell crabs, steamed chicken, deep friend chicken, seafood salad, shrimp crackers, Thai style omelette, Thai style eggroll, deep fried fish balls, deep fried spring rolls, and chicken rice (not necessarily in that order). You might not want to see this on an empty stomach.

下記の写真は他に注文した物です。結構食べましたよ。頼んだものが空芯菜炒め、あげた蟹、蒸した鶏肉、から揚げ、シーフッドサラダ、タイ風オムレツ、タイ風たまご焼き、あげたすみれ、揚げた春巻き、鶏肉かけごはん、等。
