Kit-Kat (Nihon-shu Flavor) / キット・カット 日本酒味

Its another fluff piece.  First time visitors to Japan are always amazed at the different flavors of Kit-Kat that are available here.  Some of them are only available for a limited time while others are only available in certain areas.  However, if you know where to look, you can usually find all the different flavors in one place in Tokyo.  This was the latest Kit-Kat flavor that I have encountered, Nihon-shu flavor.  I haven't been keeping a record and I don't think I've featured the other flavors before.  It just never occurred to me to post them.  Anyway, so far I've tried the wasabi, strawberry cheesecake, pumpkin, sunda, anmin-dofu, purple sweet potato, apple and maccha that I can remember.  I'm sure there are more.  I guess I will have to go in search of them just to continue this Kit-kat fluff series!  I actually like nihon-shu, much better than shochu, so I quite enjoyed this.

また軽いネタがつづきます。初めて日本に来るアメリカ人の観光客がいつも驚くのは、キット・カットの味の豊富さ。アメリカはそんなにないんですよ。期間限定や地域限定が多いですが、東京で探せば必ずみつかりますよ。 最近キット・カットが出した限定味は日本酒。酒好きにたまらんわ！僕はいろんなキット・カットの味が食べましたが、個人ブログに紹介したことないな。なんでだろ？ま、これからまた始まれば良いっか。自分の記憶で今まで食べた限定味はわさび、紫芋、すんだ、りんご、ストロベリーチーズケーキ、杏仁豆腐、パンプキン、抹茶など。他もあると思うが、今思い出せない。ところで、日本酒の味も結構良いですよ。好きです。

Gari Gari-kun Spaghetti Flavored Popsicle / ガリガリ君 ナポリタン味 トマトゼリー入り

Gari Gari-kun popsicles are a staple of Japanese snacks, especially in the summer.  But in the last few years, the makers of Gari Gari-kun have been sprouting their wings in providing consumers with some really offbeat flavors.  This was the third in their limited run series.  I never did get around to introducing the first two.  The first of which was corn potage flavor.  The second was a white stew flavor.  But this one just went over the top.  Spaghetti flavored popsicle with tomato jelly inside?  My wife knows I love eating these just because they make such great blog fodder.  Of course I had to eat it.  I can tell you it wasn't bad.  However, I won't say it was good or delicious either.  But doesn't it make for great conversation?

日本で誰でも知ってるガリガリ君ですが、最近変わった味を出すのが売りにもなってる。これは限定期間の第三の変わり味。最初の二つは紹介してなかったが、これはどうしても紹介したかった。ちなみに、最初に出た期間限定の味はコーンポタージュでした。第ニの変わり味はシチューでした。両方も食べましたよ。両方は悪くないですが、美味しいとは言えません。そして、このあいだ妻が買ってくれた第三の変わり味。なんと、あのパスタのナポリタンをガリガリ君にしました！それにしてもトマトゼリー入りですよ！これも悪くはないですが、旨いとは言えない。でもネタとして面白いでしょう。
