Tokyo Flashbacks : Decks [Daiba 1-Chome Shotengai] / 京フラッシュバック：デックス 「台場一丁目商店街」

At a building called Decks in Odaiba, on one of the floors is a place called "Daiba 1-chome Shotengai". The area was modeled around '50s  Japan. It has a very Showa atmosphere.

お台場デックスに「台場一丁目商店街」というところがあります。ここは昭和３０年代をイメージした下町の造りになってます。

We made a short stop at Showa Station.

新幹線がある昭和駅に寄ってみた。

Checking out the retro style cans of juice and soda.

缶も昭和の雰囲気を出してますね。

Americans will know this robot as Gigantor but as I grew up in Japan and watched the cartoon, it has always been Tetsujin 28-go to me.

アメリカ人なら、このロボットはジャイガントールという名前になってます。でも僕は小学校時代は日本に住んでたんで、やっぱり僕にとっては鉄人２８号ですよ。

Hm, this looks like something from the '80s though.

あれ、パックマンって確か８０年代じゃない？

We had already eaten lunch and never did get around to coming back here to try some different types of takoyaki.

先程ランチを食べたのは、ここは寄ってみただけ。いずれは行こうと話しましたが、結局いかず、いろんなとこ焼きは食べてませんでした。

If memory serves, this was an entrance to a cat cafe where you hang out with a bunch of cats.

僕の記憶が確かならば、これは猫カフェの入口だった。

Looks like we spent all day in Odaiba this particular day.

昼から夜までお台場に居たみたい。

I'm sure we went home afterward and called it a night.

確かあとは帰って寝ただけ。
