Futakotamagawa Fireworks / 二子玉川花火大会

As it is currently in the middle of winter, I thought I would share a post from the previous summer. One of my friends had been inviting us every year to check out the Futakotamagawa Fireworks and this year which would be our final year in Tokyo, we decided to take them up on their offer. Our friends had bought reserved seating (which can be very expensive) as the fireworks are a popular event and is very crowded.

今は真冬の中ですから夏のネタを書こうと思いまして、去年の夏の二子玉川花火大会を紹介します。毎年ある友達が私たちをいつも誘ってくれますが、妻がいつもバイトで、時間的にも電車が一番込むときですからいつも不参加でした。今年（２０１６年）、東京最後になる年もあって、妻のバイト時間も変更にもなったため参加致しました。

The weather was looking rather questionable.

天気がちょっと不安定で大丈夫かな。

I'm not liking the looks of those clouds.

雲の様子を見てやな予感がする。

Our friends 21 (a nickname of course) and wife who invited us.

２１番（もちろんあだ名）と彼の妻。花火大会に誘ってくれた友達。

There is a very high probability of the fireworks being cancelled due to rain.

花火大会が雨の為に中止なる可能性もあり。

We're still going to stick it out as long as possible.

諦めず、天気が良くなるのを祈るしかいないです。

Most of the other people are hoping for a clearing in the weather too.

他の客も傘をさしながら、天気の回復を待つ限り。

But miracles do happen. The rain stopped, the sky cleared, and the okay was given for the fireworks display!

奇跡が起こりました。雨が止んで、空が綺麗になり、花火大会の実行が決定されました！

The display was going as planned and the rain seemed as if it was all a joke.

花火がちゃんと見えて、この日雨は二度と降らなかった。

I had also taken some video clips but apparently they were too large to fit on this blog. But I hope you enjoyed the images.

And before you know it, the show is over.

楽しい時間があっという間に流れて花火大会の巻く終了しました。

We waited for the crowds to disperse before heading home.

ちょっと時間を経ってから私たちも帰りました。
