Tokyo Flashback : Meguro Batou Kannon and Dairoku Tensha /

It was a Wednesday and I had the day off because it was a national holiday. It was National Foundation Day. It commemorates the accession of the mythical Jimmu, the first Emperor of Japan in 660BC. My wife worked at a convenience store, so holidays were quite meaningless to her. I decided to go exploring on my own and walked around Meguro and Shibuya.

Meguro Bato Kannon /

This place had piqued my interest a while back. It's located in Shibuya. There is a staircase going up between a couple of high rise buildings. I was thinking, is there really a shrine somewhere between the really modern buildings.

And the answer was yes! Unlike most shrine grounds, this shrine was located in a large courtyard between two businesslike buildings.
