Tempura Restaurant [Tenmai] in Urawa, Saitama Prefecture / 天麩羅レストラン 「天米」埼玉県、浦和

 

 

 

 

I suppose you may be wondering why we ate lunch at tempura place in Saitama Prefecture.  We were there for a reason.  But that will be the subject of another post.  So for now - a restaurant post featuring tempura!  We had lunch at place called [Tenmai].  At least, I think that's how you're supposed to read the kanji. 

 

どうして私たちは埼玉県の浦和で昼食を食べに？それはちゃんと理由がありますが、その理由は次のネタで書きます。ってことで、今日は久しぶりのレストランネタです。今日は天麩羅（僕初めて天ぷらを全部漢字で見た）の専門店「天米」に行きました。実はこのレストランは私たちの目的地に近い。

 

 



The restaurant has that nice at home atmosphere and an elderly couple ran the place.  This is also one of those restaurants that serves you the tempura one dish at a time. 

 

個人まりの店内で凄い落ち着いた雰囲気。可愛い老夫婦がやってる店です。そして天ぷらは揚げたてで、材料は一つずつ丁寧に揚げてる。

 

 



We sat at the counter and watched our cook make the tempura in front of us.

私たちはカウンター席に座り、天ぷらを揚げてるを見ていた。

Of course our tempura set came with rice and miso soup and oshinko.

もちろん天ぷらのセットにライツと味噌汁付き。あとはお新香も。

 Our set started off with shrimp.

最初に出た天ぷらは海老。

Fish, but I don't know what kind.

魚、でもなんの種類か覚えてません。

On the right is squid.

右側にあるのはいかの天ぷら。

And mustn't forget the veggies.

そして野菜も忘れずに。これはインゲンです。

And more veggies.

野菜がまだできますよ、定番のさつまいも。

And onions!

そして玉ねぎ！

I loves me the veggie tempura!

野菜の天ぷらも大好き！


And then it was off to our actual destination - Tsuki Jinja, the Rabbit Shrine.

ランチを食べ終わったら、そろそろ本当の目的地に歩き始めた。目指してる場所は調神社（つきじんじゃ）、ここはウサギの神社です。
