Edo-Tokyo Museum (again) /

Oh my, I see it's been over a week since I've posted anything new.  Time to do a bit of catching up.  As I mentioned, Mikako and I met up with our friends Yukio and Reiko and went to the Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku.

The Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku /

There was a mechanical doll presentation when we entered the building.

Model of the residence of the daimyo Tadamasa Matsudaira.

Model of Edo /

Japan's first Shogun - Ieyasu Tokugawa /

Replica of Nihonbashi /

Being an Edo-era fireman /

Some guy from the future staring into a house of the past.

Where I would spend most of my time if I lived in Edo, an Edo-era book store.

What books would I have bought?

Woodblocks used for printing.

Box holding thousand gold coins /

A shishimai bit me on the head so I should have good fortune for the rest of the year.

This is actually pretty heavy.

Kabuki /

The museum tour will continue in the Showa-era.
