What am I doing featuring a building that doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities and looks decrepit from the outside? Well, this building houses the [Compound Cafe] which was voted as one of the top ten favorite Italian restaurant of residents of Sangenjaya. So, on one of my days off I decided to check it out.
なぜ見た目ボロイで特徴のないビルを紹介しようとしてるのって？ここのビルの２階から４階は三軒茶屋住民がトップテンで選んでたイタライアン料理の店「コンパウンド・カフェ」。 カフェですからイタライアン料理店というわけでもない。そして、休みの時ランチで訪れました。

What's interesting about this cafe that there are no tables for customers on the second floor. That's where the kitchen is located. Tables for customers are on the 3rd and 4th floors. I thought it was a rather unusual design for a cafe. I asked the staff why it was made like this and was informed that this building used to be a karaoke place.
このカフェの面白いところはやっぱり内装ですね。カフェは２階から４階ですが、２階はお客様が座れ所はありません。厨房です。テーブルにあるのは３階と４階。帰りの時何でこういう作り方になったのと聞いてみると、昔このビルはカラオケボックスの店だった。
When you are ready to order, you ring this bell that's on the table.
注文が決まったらテーブルの置かれてる鐘を鳴らす。
I know this place was popular because of its pasta but I decided to order today's lunch special. Chicken fritter which comes with soup and salad.
この店のパスタが凄い人気と知ってたが、自分が注文したのはその日の日替わりメニュー、チキンフリットでした。スープ、サラダ付き。
