Way back in April of last year, a new shopping complex opened below Ikebukuro station. The area was called Echika (Eki for station and Chika for underground). There was a big promotion for the grand opening so of course we had to check it out. It turned out to be a lot smaller than we imagined and there weren't that many interesting stores for us to browse through (but then, I was never big on clothing and jewelry). What did interest us was the food court. We decided to have lunch at the Epice Cafe. Mikako and I both ordered the Epice Curry lunch which also includes a salad.
Unfortunately, it wasn't anything to write home about and we probably won't be coming here again anytime soon. It wasn't bad or anything, but there are much better curries to eat at a lot of other places.
At least they serve a bigger portion of salad than most places do.
We couldn't pass up a sign for an Ikebukuro snack called the "bukuro dog". At first, I thought it was some kind of hotdog. It's more like an imagawa yaki shaped like a hotdog and filled with cheese. But it was good!
The sign that caught my eye.
