Snow Country (Part 3) Asamushi Hotspring /

January 2 - Our trip to Asamushi Hotspring. It seems my mother-in-law's day of rest was all she needed. She was back to her ole self again. Happy and perky and talking a mile a minute. Four of us were headed to the hot spring. Me and Mikako, of course. Mikako's mother. And Mikako's 14yr old nephew Ryo. Ryo's father took us to our ryokan - the Asamushi Kanko Hotel, where all the rooms have a view of the ocean!

While Mikako and her Mother and her nephew decided to relax in our fourth floor room, I immediately set out to discover the baths before dinner. The baths are located on the third floor and also have a a view of the ocean and a small island called Kujirajima which translates to "Whale Island". From a certain perspective, the island does look like a whale!

And of course, the other great thing about staying at a ryokan is the dinner (but that will be the next post).

I am so insanely jealous. I want to be in an onsen! I want to eat all the food at the ryokan. It's just not fair!
