Tokyo Flashbacks : Tokyo University of Agriculture Harvest Festival 2013 /

In Japan, most universities have an annual school festival called a gakuen-sai. The festivals are open to the public. Many university clubs and organizations will have food booths set up and there will be all kinds of events - music, dancing, games, exhibitions, demonstrations, etc. But the university that was located not too far from our apartment was the Tokyo Agricultural Univeristy. They called their school festival a "Harvest Festival". It would be held every year in November. My wife and I would go to this event every year as well. As this is an agricultural university, the students want to show off the crops they grew, the animals they raised, the honey they made, etc.

But the best thing about this festival is the food! As there are many foreign students, you can get a chance to try foods from different countries.

I usually keep the pamphlets so I can refer back to what we ate but as it's been over five years since this festival and we moved to Aomori, I most likely tossed the pamphlet out. Everything was good but the soft tacos were nothing to tell home about.
