A Walk around Odaiba (Part 2) / お台場の散歩 （パート２）

After getting our fill of seeing the 18m (60ft) Gundam, we walked around the park which has a great view of the Rainbow Bridge, and if you look closely, you can see the Tokyo Tower in the background.

ガンダムを見たあと、潮風公園をもうちょっと探索してみた。海も近いなので、船も乗りたい気分になりますよ。 公園から見るレインボーブリッジも綺麗。東京タワーも見える。

We then left Shiokaze Park and decided to cool off in some nearby buildings (it was quite hot when we headed out to Odaiba), but I couldn't pass up taking a picture of the replica "Statue of Liberty" standing in another park.

潮風公園をあとにして、近くのビルの中に入った（天気は結構暑かったので）、でも別の公演で「自由の女神」のレプリカの写真も撮るべきと思った。

Odaiba is also home to Fuji Television Network, and their building is a well-known piece of architecture (unfortunately, I do not know who the architect was).

お台場と言えば、富士テレビ。自分の意見ですけど、富士テレビのビルは素晴らしい建造物と思います。結構未来的な感じがする。

We went to Odaiba while Fuji Television was having their annual summer event titled "The　United States of Odaiba". You could get a chance to see some of the stage sets from the various shows shown on Fuji Television. There were also free areas and events such as an idol group performance. We caught a couple of songs by the idol group "Idoling", even though we thought they were just some school kids singing on stage. Watching the idols wasn't half as much fun as watching the fans of the idols. Take my word for it, you had to be there. Although I did take a video clip, alas, it was unauthorized so I shall not upload it here.

お台場に行った時、富士テレビの夏イベント、「お台場合衆国」か開催してた。会場に富士テレビ系列の番組のセットとかイベントがいろいろありました。ちょうどう行った時に若い女の子たちがステージで歌って踊ってた。普通の女子高生かと思って、動画を撮ったが、撮影禁止で注意された。よく見ると、アイドリングとゆうアイドルグループでした。でも彼女たちより、彼女たちの熱狂的なファンのほうを見るのがもっと面白い。

As it was still summer vacation, it was pretty crowded.

まだ夏休みの真っ最中なので、平日でも込んでました。

Here I am sitting with Tamori, host of the popular noon-time variety/talk show "Iitomo".

「いいとも！」の友達紹介コーナーでタモリさんと一緒座ってる僕。

Ooh, I got a little prize from the "Iitomo" booth, one of those things to keep your pet bottle cool.
