Tokyo Flashback : Oyster Bar [Kakigaraso] / 東京フラッシュバック：オイスターバー「かき殻荘」

Traveling back in time to September 19, 2015, my friends and I decided to meet up at an oyster bar in Sangenjaya called [Kakigaraso]. It was a Saturday. I just checked the Internet and happy to inform you that the place is still in business. 

２０１５年９月１９日にタイムスリップして、まだ東京に住んでたころに、この日は友達と約束して、三軒茶屋にあるオイスターバー「かき殻荘」を食べに行った。

The restaurant is located in on the second floor of this building. 

店はこのビルの２階にある。

A little appetizer. I forgot what it was. 

今日のお通し。なんだか忘れたけど。

This food was pretty trendy for a while - bagna cauda.

Tokyo Flashback : Tori Paitan Ramen [Takeichi] / 東京フラッシュバック：鶏白湯らーめん 麺屋「武一」

In our old neighborhood of Sangenjaya, we would always try the new ramen shops that opened. This was one of the latest ones (at the time). It is located on the second floor of building that houses the H.I.S. travel agency and a Subway Sandwich shop. I recently took a walk around the neighborhood via Google Streetmap and found that all shops have changed. Subway is a Freshness Burger shop, the ramen shop is an izakaya called [Shin Jidai] and the travel agency is now a dental clinic. 

東京に住んでた頃、うちの近所は三軒茶屋でした。よく新しいラーメン屋を食べに行くとが一つの楽しみ。世田谷線世田谷駅の近くに新しく出来たラーメン屋があって、行くしかないでしょう。名物が濃厚鶏白湯らーめんみたい。面屋「武一」に食べに行きました。今日グーグルストリートマップを見て、このビルの店が全て変わってる。ラーメン屋は「新時代」という居酒屋に、SubwayがFreshness Burger。そしてH.I.S.がデンタルクリニックになってた。

To be honest, I can't remember if we ordered the specialty or not but I do recall the ramen tasting good. 

正直名物のラーメン注文したかどうか忘れてましたが、食べたラーメンは美味しかった。

And what goes good with ramen? Gyoza of course!

そしてラーメンと共に食べるものは？餃子に決まってる！

On our way home (or maybe it was before we ate lunch), we stopped by a small neighborhood temple called Saishoji Temple.

帰り道（もしかしてランチ食べる前だったかも）、近所にある小さなお寺、最勝寺にお参りしました。

So ends today's culinary trip. 

そして食べ物の旅の幕が閉じた。

Tokyo Flashback : Tokyo Sakurashinmachi Nebuta Festival (Part 2) / 東京フラッシュバック：東京桜新町ねぶた祭り （パート２）

I forgot where we had dinner but Reiko and I were joined by my wife and her husband and we decided to eat before seeing the actual Nebuta Festival. 

どこで食べたが忘れたが、僕と玲ちゃんのパートナーが合流してねぶたを見る前に夕飯を食べた。

It looks like some kind of meat dish. 

なんかの肉料理だ。

Tomatoes with avocado. Yummy!

トマトとアボカドをカプレーゼ風にアレンジ。

A plate of roasted edamame. 

焼いた枝豆も美味しいよね。

I think it's a small plate of trite.

Salted stir-fried noodles with shrimp.

Hard to say what the dish is.

Mixed pizza.

And a few eggrolls. 

そして卵焼き。

Dang, just how much did we eat and drink that evening?

ゲッ、私たちはいったいどのくらいの量を食べたのか？

It was a good turnout. 

結構混んでました。

And that ends the Tokyo Nebuta Festival. 

そして東京ねぶた祭りの幕が閉じた。
