Morning visitor at my parent's house on my recent trip home.

５年ぶりに里帰りしたとき、朝にうちの庭にこうお客様が現れた。


Just a note to let you my readers know that I am back in Tokyo and have plans to write more posts in the near future.  I have decided not to write about my recent trip home on my blog.  I took so many pictures its taking me a long time to organize them.

無事日本に帰りました。近々いろんなネタを書き込みます。今回の里帰りのネタは個人ブログに書かないことしました。写真が取りすぎて、写真の整理するのが結構時間かかってます。

やっぱり気持ち悪いね！


Anyway, surgery last Monday was a success and I am currently at home.  I get to replace my current half-cast with a wrist supporter on Monday.  Go back again Tuesday, then I have my regular appointment for diabetes on Wednesday.  Heck, I'm becoming like my mother with all these hospital visits.  Still, rehab for using my left hand is a challenge.  I don't even have the strength to squeeze a tube of toothpaste yet.

月曜日の手術は成功しました。木曜日は無事退院。現在は家でゆっくりしてます。来週月曜日にまた病院の外来。今の半ギプスみたいなものがリストサポーターに変わり、火曜日もまた外来で手のリハビリ、そして水曜日は糖尿の為の通院。最後は総合病院じゃないけど、僕の塔に用の先生がこの左手を見たらびっくりするでしょう。こんなに通院して、まるで自分のお母さんな様になってるわ！左手の動きのリハビリも大変。いま歯磨き粉を搾る力さえありません。片腕の生活とっても不便。


I won't bore you with extended posts about my hospital stay - maybe a post on Japanese hospital food though.  To all my faithful readers, I'm back and I shall write new posts soon.

退屈な病棟生活のネタは書きませんので安心して下さい ‐ ま、日本の病院食のネタ位は書くかも知りません。僕のブログの読者の皆様、無事戻りましたので、これからいろんなネタを書きおろします。

As you can see in the picture above, writing is a little difficult for me right now.  What happened?  Last Sunday I went ice skating for the first time in 30 years.  I slid.  I fell.  I broke my wrist in two places.  This cast is temporary.  The bone is too far out of line so I'm having surgery this coming Monday where the doctors will cut into my wrist, insert a pin, and set the bone back as close to its original position as possible.  Heading into the hospital on Friday morning so this may be the last post for at least week or so.

上記の写真を見れば分かると思いますが、いまパソコン打つのも大変な作業です。どうしたのって？　先週の日曜日３０年ぶりにアイススケートに行きました。滑って、転んで、左手首二か所を骨折した。ギプスだけで治らないので、来週の月曜日手術する事になった。骨のずれが大きいすぎて、手術が必要。手首を切って、ピンを入れて、骨をなるべく元に場所に戻してピンに固定するオペ。金曜日から入院しますので、ブログはしばらくお休みとなります。

Starting tomorrow, my wife and I, along with my sister and parents visiting from the States will be heading north to my wife's hometown of Aomori and to Hakodate as well. As I will be on vacation, there will be no new posts for at least a week. See you sometime next week!

To all my faithful readers - I apologize for not posting anything new for the last couple of weeks. The simple reason being the computer was in for repairs - not that there was anything wrong with it - only the adaptor was bad. But as the computer is still under warranty, the store I bought it at suggested sending it to Toshiba. Well, Toshiba said it would cost about $150USD to take a look at it. The adaptor can be special ordered for only $15. Well, you can guess that I decided not to have Toshiba do their thing - oh, and the adaptor is not covered under the warranty - worthless store warranties!

読者の皆さまーこのたびなにも書けず申し訳ございませんでした。この二週間パソコンは修理に出してました。本体は壊れてなかったが、アダプターだけの調子が悪くて、買った店に出しました。保障に入ってたので。店員のおすすめで東芝に調べてもらったほうが良いとおすすめられて、迷いながら、修理にだした（だって、本体壊れてないって）。それに、２－３週間位かかりますと言われて、え～と考えながら、出しました。で、やっぱり本体じゃなくて、アダプターだけが悪い。店から電話があって、東芝が調べると１万５千円がかかりますって。アダプターだけを取り寄せすれば５千円ですも。さらにアダプターは保障の対象外になるため、新しいものと交換も出来ず、店の保障ってなに？今も壊れてるはずのアダプターを使ってますよ。

A Safe Return / 無事帰国

Greetings everybody, I have safely returned from my trip to the States. I have taken lots of pictures and will start writing new posts in a day or two. So, please be patient as I sort through my pictures and try to decide what to start writing about first.
