Tsugaru no Momo Pink Curry / 津軽の桃 ピンクカレー

I can't believe I hadn't featured any of the instant curries that I've eaten here in Japan over the years.  I've featured curry shops on this blog.  I also have featured a bunch of instant noodles.  So, I guess the instant curries will get a fresh start.  And I'm starting with this really scary looking one first.  A souvenir bought while in Aomori during Golden Week.  Looking at the image on the package, I do believe you need a bit of courage to try this - Tsugaru no Momo Pink Curry.  Although "momo" translates to peach, the Tsugaru Momo is a type of apple. 

信じられない。この個人ブログでレトルトのカレーが紹介したことないなんて。カレーの店は紹介してますけど。インスタントと言えば、カップ麺もいろいろ紹介してる。 ま、このブログで新しいシリーズが今日から始まる。 今後はずーとレトルトのカレーを紹介するわけないよ。不定的にするよ。とりあえず最初紹介するレトルトカレーは不思議なもんですよ。東北限定のもの。パッケージの画像みるだけで、これを食べるのはそーと勇気が必要かもと思いました。食べてみたのは青森県産 「津軽の桃 ピンクカレー」。 津軽の桃は桃ではなく林檎の種類ですよ。

I know what you're thinking - did you really eat that?  Oh my, that looks really bad for your health and all.  But being the adventurous soul I am when it comes to any kind of cuisine (well, maybe not the edible bugs and insects), I took my first bite.  Hm, not bad.  As the Tsugaru no momo is a type of apple, this curry is a bit on the sweet side.  I prefer my curries spicy so I know I won't be buying this one again anytime soon.  But it does make for a great blog piece.

考えてることわかりますよ！ それ、本当に食べたの？ 体に悪そう！なんと言いたいでしょう。確かに見た目はちょっとグロイかも。でも僕は食べ物の冒険家だ（昆虫種類以外はね）。そして最初の人口。ううん、悪くはない。津軽の桃は林檎の種類なので、ちょっと甘めのカレーですね。色はともかく。自分は辛いほうのカレーが好みなので、これは多分また食べることはないでしょう。でもやっぱりブログネタでは良いでしょう。
