New Year's Day! Of course I ate my new year's soba (a Japanese tradition). The plan for today is to spend some time with Mikako's biological father. Aside from that, we had absolutely no plans. As we don't have any wheels to take us anywhere, the rest of the day would be spent lounging around the house watching television or playing a game on our portable DS Lite. We are currently hooked on a game called Professor Layton's Last Time Travel. My mother-in-law was down for the entire day - seems like she picked up a nasty virus somewhere. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow as we're planning on going to a hot spring.
元旦！もちろん昨日は年越し蕎麦も食べましたよ。今日の予定は美香子の実の父の家に行く。それ以外はなんもない。車もないし、ほとんどの店も閉まってるし、家でおとなしくテレビを見るか、それとも今はまってるゲームをやるか。今遊んでるゲームはレイトン教授の最後の時間旅行。これが面白いんですよ。義理の母が昨日の夜からダウン。なんとノロヴィルスに感染し病院に行って点滴を受けてきた。明日大丈夫かな？温泉に行く予定ですから。

Mikako's mother's house / 美香子の実家With Mikako's mother out for the day and having no food in the house, Mikako and I ventured to the nearest convenience store (which is quite a hike from the house). Oh well, I could always use the exercise.
義理の母がダウンで、家に朝食のものがなかったので、僕と美香子が近くのコンビニまで出かけた（と言っても、結構の距離）。
