Tokyo Flashback : Luke's Lobster / 東京フラッシュバック：ルークス・ロブスター

My wife and I were watching television one day and we saw this piece on a new fast food place that opened in Harajuku. The place was called [Luke's Lobster] and was the latest in Tokyo's gourmet scene. We went the following weekend. Oh my, this was one of the few times that my wife and I stood in line for over an hour and a half just to eat some food.

僕と妻がテレビを見てたらなんかの番組で日本初上陸の店が紹介されました。それがロブスターサンド専門店の「ルークス・ロブスター」。一号店は原宿でオープンした。私たちは食べ物について結構ミーハーなので次の休日原宿に行きました。初めてかも知りませんが、私たちは一時間以上列に並びました。

We're so far back in the line we can't even see the shop yet.

Instagram potential. I don't know why I didn't have my wife take a picture of me standing in front of this so I would look like a giant lobster. 

インスタ映え場所。いま思うとなんでそこに立てなかったのかな。巨大伊勢海老になれたのに。

We're almost at the counter.

あとちょっとで注文が出来る。

Time to place our order. 

注文する時間です。

This is the menu. Of course we ordered the lobster roll from the US and yes, that price does say ￥1,580.

もちろん一番うえのロブスターロール（アメリカ）のやつを注文した。値段が１，５８０円。

And here it is - the lobster roll! Sure, it was delicious but a little expensive. The worst thing though was that it didn't fill us up at all so after we had our sandwiches, we went to a ramen shop to get more sustenance!

はい、これです。ま、ちょっと高かったけど美味しい。でも見る通りおなかいっぱいにはなりません。僕と妻は同じ意見だった。もの足りない。ロブスターロールを食べたあと、すぐ近くのラーメン屋に入り、ラーメンを食べた！

Tokyo Flashback : Ramen Shop [Soryutogyokudo] / 東京フラッシュバック：ラーメン処「善龍唐玉堂」

 

Anytime is always a great time for ramen. We decided to check this place out in Roppongi. The name of the ramen shop is [Soryutogyokudo]. 

ラーメン何の時間でも食べらるものです。六本木でこのラーメンショップに入りました。名前は「善龍唐玉堂」。

I believe this was the shop specialty, tokusei tantanmen.

このが店の押しメニューと思う。特性坦々麺。

This was most likely my order - aozansho tantanmen.

これは多分自分が注文したラーメン、青山椒坦々麺。

I think this was Reiko's order - she probaly had the beef tendon tantanmen.

これは多分玲ちゃんのオーダー。もしかして牛筋坦々麺。

I'm just guessing but this might be the tomato tantanmen. 

はっきり覚えてないけど、これはもしかしてトマト坦々麺だったかな。

Gyoza is always great with ramen.

ラーメンの友はやっぱり餃子ですよね。

Tokyo Flashback : Marutomi Suisan / 東京フラッシュバック：丸富すいｓ

Nearing the end of our shrine pilgrimage, we were getting a little hungry and this restaurant caught our eye. It is called [Marutomi Suisan] and is located in Akasaka. 

神社巡りが終わるところだったので、全員ちょっとお腹が空いたところで、この店を通った。赤坂にある「丸富水産」。良さそうな感じで店に入りました。

One of my wife's favorite dish is the kanimiso (crab miso). 

妻の大好物の蟹味噌。

I love this cold tofu dish called hiya yakko.

僕が好きな冷奴。

The restaurant has their own brand of soy sauce. 

店が特製の醬油あり。

Here's another one of my favorite dishes - a whole roasted garlic. 

これも僕の大好物、にんにくの丸揚げ。

Oh, and you can't go wrong with a sashimi platter. 

刺身の盛り合わせも最高。

And some broad beans.

We grilled some clams too.

アサリも焼いてました。

I think we did have some chicken too even though this is a mostly seafood restaurant. 

ほぼ海鮮料理なんですが、から揚げもメニューにあった気がする。

Tokyo Flashback : Tokyo Shrine Pilgrimage / 東京フラッシュバック：東京神社巡り

After enjoying some food and drinks at the Cambodia Festival, my friends and I decided to leave the area and went on a shrine pilgrimage. Our first stop would be Tokyo Izumo Taisha 

カンボジアフェスで食べて飲んだあと、本格的に神社巡りを実行。一番最初に目指すのは出雲大社分祀東京。

Well, it's definitely not as big as the main shrine in Shimane Prefecture. 

当たり前ですが、出雲大社分祀東京は島根県の出雲大社よりよっぽど小さいです。

As we were headed to our next shrine we passed through Roppongi Midtown where we were accosted by Godzilla.

The next shrine we were going to visit was Hie Shrine in Akasaka. 

次お参りする神社は赤坂にある日枝神社。

We must walk up these steps to Hie Shrine.

Not far from Hie Shrine is Nogizaka Station so we walked to Nogi Shrine. 

赤坂の近くに乃木坂があるので、つぎお参りした神社は乃木坂にある野木神社。
