Buildings of Victoria, B.C. /

One of the things I love about Victoria, B.C. in Canada is all the old buildings. The architecture is fantastic. Unlike Japan where lots of beautiful old buildings are torn down to make way for ugly new ones, the old buildings in Victoria are preserved and used for new businesses.

The Butchart Gardens /

And now for the flowers from the garden. Even though I have my trusty guide to name them, I couldn't tell if I had them right so I shall not label them.

US Vacation 2009 (Part 4) /

While back at home in the States, Mikako and I wanted to take her mother to Victoria, British Columbia to see the Butchart Gardens. Along with my sister, we decided to take an overnight trip to Victoria by boat - a 2 1/2 hour trip.

Our trip included a tour of the city before heading to the Butchart Gardens and this was our tour bus.

As I couldn't take great pictures of the city from the tour bus, I shall start off with our tour of the Butchart Gardens.

The only unfortunate thing about our trip was that it started to rain the minute we reached the garden. But flowers need their water, so borrowing the free umbrellas that were available, we took a leisurely walk.
