Kusatsu Hot Spring Trip 2 (Part 1) / 草津温泉旅行 ２（パート１）

As my wife and I have decided to move to her hometown of Aomori at the end of next month, our usual travel partners suggested one last mini vacation before our impending departure. Our last trip took us to the Kusatsu Hot Spring resort and we loved it so much we decided another trip there would be an excellent choice. We will stay at the same pension as last time but on our return, we will stop in at Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture. We would meet our friends at Monzen Nakacho at 9am and head to the closest Service Area for breakfast before heading to Kusatsu.

私と妻が決心して来月末私たちは東京から妻の実家青森県に引っ越すことになりました。中の良い友達が私たちが引っ越すまえにまた温泉旅行を提案。私たちが以前草津に行きまして凄い気に入りって、もう一回草津行くことに決定。同じペンションにも泊まり、帰りは長野県軽井沢を寄って行く。金曜朝９時門前仲町で待ち合わせ、草津を目指すまえに近くのサービスエリアで朝食を取る。

Our first stop is at Miyoshi Service Area for a quick breakfast.

最初の目的地は三芳サービスエリアで朝食。

We were going to check out the cows at the Ikaho Green Farm until we noticed the entrance fee was ￥1600 per person.  A little too expensive to see some cows.  We weren't planning on a full day there so we just browsed the souvenir shop and then went to the Ikaho Hot Spring resort area.

伊香保グリーン牧場で牛にふれあいする予定だったが入場料が一人１６００円。牛を見るだけじゃちょっと高いから入るのは却下して、お土産屋だけを除いて、その後は伊香保温泉郷のほうに行きました。

I didn't buy any but I thought the Tabasco soy sauce was pretty interesting.

自分で買ってなかったがタバスコの醤油にちょっと興味あった。

We decided to take the Ikaho ropeway which would take us to the top of Mount Monokiki.

伊香保ロープウエイに乗って物聞山の山頂に行きました。

We are now at the top of Mount Monokiki in Ikaho. If you look closely, you will be able to spot a Ferris Wheel at the center of the picture.

Next, we walked down the mountain to Ikaho Jinja which is located at the top of the Ikaho Stone Step Street

山から降りて、伊香保石段街の上にある伊香保神社を目指す。

We walked down quite a bit of stairs to reach Ikaho Jinja.

物聞山山頂から伊香保神社まで結構の距離があって、この階段をずーと降りてる。

We finally made it to the shrine grounds of Ikaho Jinja.

We spotted a foot bath along the stone steps and decided to partake.

We were back at the car and once again heading for Kusatsu, but we decided we would have lunch at Yamba Dam.

車に戻って、また草津行き。ランチは八ッ場ダムで食べることに。

And now we would head to our pension in Kusatsu and enjoy many baths!
