Japanese Microbrew Tour - Gunma Prefecture / 日本地ビールツアー ー 群馬県

Now that I've finished my Silver Week posts, time to write some ultra lite fair.  I think its about time I repaid a visit to my Japanese Microbrew Tours.  It's still my goal to try at least one craft beer from all 47 Prefectures.  I am still a little less than half-way there.  Today, I am going to feature some craft beers from Gunma Prefecture.  My wife and I and a couple of friends spent last weekend in Kusatsu so of course I went in search of Gunma craft beers.  I found these craft beers by Agatuma Koisi Bier - Marzen, Stout, and White.

シルバーウィークのネタがやっと書き終わりましたので、軽いネタに戻る。長い間日本地ビールネタは書いてないので、それに戻ります。 今も変わらず、目標が日本の４７都道府県で一種類の地ビールを飲む。まだ半分以下しか達成してない。 今回はぐ群馬県です。先週友達と妻、４人で草津温泉旅行に出かけました。 群馬県の地ビールを探したら発見したのは吾つま恋し麦の酒 ー メルツェン、スタアウト、とホワイト。

 

 

I bought these at the Michi no Eki and was going to save all of them until we got to our guest house in Kusatsu but my friend Yukio was in a drinking mood.  So we opened up the Marzen first.  It is a lager that tastes lighter than a pilsner but looks more like an ale.  I think it tastes closer to an ale as well.

 

群馬のどこかの道の駅で購入した吾つま恋しビール。宿まで持っていこうと思ったが、友達の幸男が飲みモードに入ったため、一本すぐあけました。最初に飲んだのはメルツェン。 ラーガーなんですけお味はエールに近い。

 

 

 

Although I saved the other two beers and intended to drink them after soaking in a tub.  I ended up bringing them home and enjoyed them at my leisure in our humble apartment.  Most of you who know me know that my favorite style of beer is either a stout or porter.  I love the dark beers!

 

宿でほかの二種類を飲む予定だったが、結局うちまで持ち帰った。僕を良くしてる人なら、個人的に好きなビールはスタウトかポーター。とにかく黒ビールが好き！

 

 

The white beer?  Well, if I'm going to enjoy a white beer, it will most definitely be a Hoegaarden.  This wasn't bad but doesn't live up to the Belgian masterpiece.

 

吾つまのホワイトビール？ ま、ホワイトビールを飲むなら、自分はビルギのヒューガルデンだな。これも悪くなかったが、ヒューガルデンに負けるね。
