The hotel we would be staying at for the evening is at the foot of Mount Tsukuba. The Tsukubasan Keisei Hotel. There seemed to be a little amusement park nearby so after checking in, we decided to check that out before heading to the baths and having dinner.
泊まる宿は筑波山の麓にある筑波山京成ホテル。となりになんかの遊園地みたな施設もあってチェックインしたあと、ちょっと遊びに出かけました。
Tsukubasan Keisei Hotel / 筑波山京成ホテル
This is the side entrance of the hotel which leads to the amusement park.
ホテルのサイドエントランス。ここを出てまっすぐ歩けば遊園地に着く。

But before heading out the door, we had to check out our room.
もちろん出かける前に部屋に一瞬くつろいだ。

出かけるまえにちょっと一休み。
You can see the ropeway that goes to the summit of Mount Tsukuba from our hotel.

Of course we had to take a couple of touristy pictures as well.

The sign says if you rub this fist, it will bring you happiness.
石なでると幸せになりますと書かれてます。
This sign caught my eye and I couldn't wait to try it out. A free jumbo slide!

Jumbo slide / ジャンボスベリ台
These rides which look pretty dated reminds me of the rides you would have found at the top of department buildings in Tokyo back in the 70s.
なんだかタイムスリップして７０年代の東京のデパートの屋上にあるような乗り物発見。
It really feels like I slipped back in time.
本当に時代感じますね。
There is a Frog Shrine on the side of the mountain as well.
山の上にある蛙神社だ。
I couldn't help but notice something on the corner of the building below us.
となりのビルの屋根に気になるものがあったので、なんだろうと思った。
Why, it's a zebra riding on the back of a frog of course!
シマウマがカエルに乗ってるよ！
I already slid down once. Yukio is now near the bottom taking a picture up at us.
僕は一回もすでに滑った。幸男が下から写真を撮ってる。

お土産屋でふざけてます。
And enjoying a bit of nihon shu.
そして日本酒をちょっと飲みました。
We will head up the mountain in the evening and check out the night view.
夜になったらロープウェーを乗って筑波山の上から夜景を楽しみます。
Some snacks before changing into a yukata and heading to the baths before dinner!
部屋に戻って、浴衣に着替えて、このスナックを食べて、夕飯の前にお風呂に入る。

I borrowed the pictures of the bath from the hotel's website, but this is where I was heading before dinner.
露天風呂の写真は筑波山京成ホテルのウェブサイトから借りた。夕飯の前もお風呂に入ります。
There is nothing more relaxing than soaking in an hot outdoor bath before having an awesome dinner! I decided to the dinner post separately just to make my mother jealous!
最高の夕飯を食べる前に露天風呂に入るのが凄い幸せ！ 夕飯のネタはまたこんど。自分のお母さんが羨みがるのは間違いない！
The baths are great, but then there is dinner. And following dinner, another trip back to the baths!
お風呂も最高ですが、やっぱり夕飯は吹かせないよね。食べ終わったらまたお風呂に入りますから。
