Ramen Yo! Tekoya /

As I mentioned in a previous post, I've been checking out gourmet burger shops that I've been neglecting to check out new ramen shops. So, this weekend as I was on my own, I headed out to Ebisu to check out a ramen shop called [Yo! Tekoya]. Why did I choose this place? In a recent ramen magazine guide I bought, this place features a Genovese style ramen. What does Genovese style mean? It means that they have a pesto ramen! Yes, I said pesto. Their regular ramen features a salted pork based soup. And they add pesto to this. I didn't know what to think but I decided to keep an open mind.

As soon as they brought my ramen, the first thing to hit you is the scent of pesto. As you can see, the topping also includes greens and mini tomatoes. You may not think it would go well with ramen, but let me tell you. I first tried a sip of the broth and it was delicious! Then I tried the noodles which also goes well with the soup. It wasn't like any other ramen I've ever tasted. Their menu also features a ramen vogole as some other different styles. I also ordered a plate of gyoza with my ramen as well.

The gyoza was okay, nothing exciting to write about there. Perhaps, its because Mikako and I had gyoza last night at Ohsho which we really love.

Bon Appetit!
