Ramen Boo /

This ramen shop is located on Suzuran Dori near Sangenjaya station. We come here from time to time, although this is a Hokkaido ramen shop, their staple item is tonkotsu (a pork based broth) which originated in Kyushu. But what caught my eye and was wanting to try was their poster for their latest ramen - tomaton! Tonkotsu ramen topped with a tomato sauce and cheese!! Yes, I'm not kidding.

This is the poster that made me want to try it.

Tomaton Ramen /

As you can see, the ramen is topped with a tomato sauce and a slice of cheese. Tomato and Cheese? On a top of ramen? Yes! And it's delicious. As this is a tonkotsu ramen, the broth may be a little on the heavy side. This shop also uses thin noodles. And once you start mixing the tomato sauce into the broth, it will seem like you're eating a second dish for the price of one. And you can always order another helping of noodles to eat with your tomato based flavored soup.

Mikako ordered the tonkotsu chashu-men. As we both did not order an extra helping of noodles, we found that we were still a little hungry and bought some pastries at a nearby bakery.

Bon Appetit!
