Edo-Tokyo Museum (Part 1) / 江戸東京博物館 （パート１）

As our computer was in the shop for repairs (checking for repairs I should say, since there wasn't anything wrong with it to begin with), I have a backlog of items I want to write about. The first being our visit to the Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku (home of Sumo Wrestling), but today I'm only writing about the museum. This would be my second visit. The first time I went was over ten years ago when a friend of mine came to visit me from the States. My main reason for wanting to go here was to check out the Osamu Tezuka exhibition.

パソコンが修理に出した時（壊れてないのに、修理と言うのはおかしいよね）。それで、書きたいネタが余ったので、最初に話すのは両国にある江戸東京博物館に行った時。初めて行ったのは約１０年前位かな。ちょうど友達がアメリカから遊びに来た時でした。ってことで、僕にとって、二回目です。今回は江戸の歴史より、もう一すの展示会が目当てでした。それは漫画家の手塚治の「手塚治展：未来へのメッセージ。

Unfortunately, photos were not allowed inside the exhibition. Mikako was only familiar with Atom Boy but I was pretty excited to see Magma Taishi (Ambassador Magma - actually I think he was called Goldar in the States). But it was a Sunday and it was very crowded. A sign said to allow yourself at least 4o minutes. We we went inside, we found out why. Osamu Tezuka fans would read every single panel so the line would plod along very slowly. I don't think Mikako found it as exciting, and to be honest, neither did I (except for the huge model of Ambassador Magma which I couldn't take a picture of).

残念ながら、展示の中の写真撮影は禁止でした。美香子は鉄腕アトムしか知らなかったみたい。僕はマグマ大使を見てちょっと感動（子供の頃よく観てた）。サインに書いてあとのは、４０分位で見れる。でも今日は日曜日、超混んでた。手塚治ファンを非常に多い。それに皆がまめに一つ一つのパネルを全部読んでるので、列があんまり進まない。美香子あんまり面白いと思ってなかったし、正直僕も熱狂的な手塚ファンでもないので、ちょっと残念。マグマ大使の像も写真も撮れなったのでもっと残念。

Atom Boy / 鉄腕アトム

Being just a little disappointed in the Osamu Tezuka exhibition, we continued on to Edo Tokyo Museum's permanent exhibition. Although I have seen the permanent exhibit before, I still found it fresh and exciting. I loved the "hands on" exhibits as well.

手塚治展を見たあとに、常設展示の方に行きました。以前もみたことがあったけど、もっと面白く感じた。触れる展示物も良かったです。

I really loved the models of Edo as well.

江戸のモデルも最高。

The replicas of the Edo longhouses were are very cool too.

江戸時代の家も面白いね。
