A couple of weeks ago, my mother-in-law was in Tokyo. She was taking her 7 year old niece, Riko-chan to Tokyo Disneyland (or should I say Tokyo Disney Resort?) for the weekend. As Mikako and I work on Saturdays, we could not join them. However, the following day we were able to join them and spent the morning at Tokyo Disney Sea (it's more adult oriented than Disneyland I think). I met Riko-chan the first time when she was still four so I didn't think she would remember me (she didn't!). But once I rode with her on the tea-cup ride in the Little Mermaid Land, she took me by the hand and led me here and there and everywhere. I heard from Mikako later that her mother said, "It looks like Riko-chan doesn't need us anymore."

二週間前に美香子のお母さんが７歳の姪っ子、リコちゃん、と一緒に東京に来ました。目的地は東京ディズニーリーゾート。僕と美香子、土曜日が仕事なので、一緒にディスニーランドは行かなかったが、日曜日は皆でディズニーシーに行きました。リコちゃん最初に会ったのは四年前、まだ４歳だったので、僕の事覚えてないと思った（その通りでした）。でも一緒にリトル・マーメイドランドのティーカップを一緒に乗ったあと、リコちゃんが自ら僕の手をひっぱてあちこちにリードされた。美香子からあとに聞いた話なんですが、お母さんが美香子に「リコちゃんはもう私たちいらないみたいね。」と言ったそう。

Disney Sea is separated from Disneyland and the quickest way to get there is to ride on the Disney Monorail. Were you able to guess that from the picture of the window above?

舞浜駅からディズニーシーに行くのは、ディズニーモノレールを乗るのが一番早い。上記の窓の写真で気づきましたでしょうか？
