Tokyo Flashback : A Walk around Ningyocho and Nihonbashi /

It was the end of September in 2014. It was such a nice day, my wife and I decide to go exploring around Ningyocho and Nihonbashi.

The first place we came across was the Sanko Inari Shrine.

It was noon and time for lunch. We decided to check out this ramen shop called [Naokyu].

According to this chopstic cover, this ramen shop first opened in the third year of the Taisho Era (1914). Wow, the shop is older than my father!

It seems this is the specialty of the house. A jun-tori ramen. It is made with the Nagoya cochin brand chicken. You can also choose from either a soy sauce based broth or salt flavor.

I must have ordered the dipping type ramen as my wife is too fond of it.

We shared a plate of gyoza.

If you look, you can still find vending machines that sell beer and other alcohol.

Of course this vending machine was located right outside a liquor shop.

Here we are at Nihonbashi again where you can find a statue of a kirin, a mythical creature.

There seemed to be a police event going on near the Nihonbashi Bridge. We decided to go chedk it out.

Ooh, a boat tour. No, we didn't take the tour though.

Tokyo Flashback : Brozers' /

It should come as no surprise to you that most of my favorite places in Tokyo are eateries. I always loved informally teaching English to my two friends because we would always pick some place to eat and study. Lately, we've been picking different gourmet burger shops. This place is one of my favorites in Tokyo. It is called [Brozers'] and is located in Ningyocho.

Before going to Ningyocho, my friends wanted to go to Tokyo Daijingu near Iidabashi. We went there first.

There was quite a long line of worshippers today.

Iitomi Inari Shrine /

From Tokyo Daijingu, we took the subway and got off at Suitengumae. As Suitengu Shrine was also located close by, we decided to go there before going on to Brozers'.

When we went to Suitengu Shrine, the original shrine was being renovated so we had to go pay our respects at the shrine that was temporarily set up for the duration of the repairs. Here is a Kappa you can pray to for an easy delivery and for parenting.

Here we are in front of Brozers'.

Checking out the menu. This is my second time here. The first time I came, I came with my friend Tetsu and we ordered the Lot Burger. The Lot Burger so named because there are "lots" of ingredients in it.

The line at the bottom of the comic says, "No, you certainly may not have a hamburger!"

While we were waiting for our burgers, I gave my friends souvenirs from Seattle. I had just come back from my trip home a few days ago.

I think it was my friend Yukie that ordered the regular cheeseburger.
