We are on the road looking forward to having lunch. We have already chosen what and where we are going to eat. We will be going to a restaurant called Houtou Fudo to eat the Yamanashi Prefecture regional dish of houtou (a dish made by stewing udon noodles and vegetables in miso soup).
これから昼食の時間だ。何食べるか、何処で食べるのかはもう旅前から決めてた。山梨県と言えばほうとう！ほうとうの人気店「ほうとう不動」を目指してる。
Its hard not to miss [Houtou Fudo] as the restaurant has a very interesting design.
「ほうとう不動」の店は凄い変わったデザインで結構目立ちます。
As you can see, it is quite a popular place and we had to wait in line for about 30 minutes before we were shown to our table.
人気の店なので行列に並びました。３０分くらいの待ち時間でやっと席に案内された。
The interior is just as interesting as the exterior.
店内も外見と同様結構面白い形の造りです。
The ichimi (cayenne pepper) container is in the shape of Mount Fuji. Its so cute.
一味唐辛子が富士山形の入りもので可愛い。
The settings for the houtou bowl are also has Mount Fuji design.
ほうとうの鍋におけるものも富士山のデザインだ。
And finally, our reason for coming here - houtou!
そしてこの店に来た理由 ー ほうとう！
We also shared an order of basash (horse meat). But please my American friends, spare me the hostile and Americentric argument of eating horse meat. Most Japanese restaurants do not receive their horse meat from wild horses killed in the U.S.
ほうとうと共に食べたのは馬刺し。アメリカの友達が批判するかも知りませんが、僕は結構好きです。

It was still an early afternoon when we finished eating lunch, so we decided to head to Mount Fuji's Fifth Station.
昼食食べ終わったらまだ時間がたっぷりあったので富士山五合目を目指した。
