Asian Chubo

Here is another ramen shop not too far from our neighborhood. "Tantan-men : ASIAN CHUBO", this was formerly called [Ten Temari]. They serve different kinds -of tantan-men. Mikako ordered the regular tantan-men while I opted for the black sesame tantan-men. The ramen shop also serves beer and other spirits as well. It seems ramen bars are the new fad (although this shop has been serving alcohol as long as I can remember.)

うちの近くのラーメン屋また紹介します。「坦々麺　ASIAN CHUBO」です。看板の通りここは坦々麺の専門店。以前は「天手毬（てんてまり）」とゆう店だったが、いつの間にか、「天手毬」の看板はなくなってた。いろんな坦々麺が楽しめる店です。酒もおいてあるので、今流行りのラーメンバーみたいな感じ（ここはラーメンバーが流行る前に酒はおいてましたけどね。） 美香子は普通の坦々麺を注文して、僕は黒ゴマ坦々麺をチョイス。

Pepsi Baobab / ペプシバオバブ

Pepsi is at it again, this time the flavored their cola with Baobab, you know, the big trees that grow in Madagascar, or better yet, the kind of tree the Little Prince took care of on his home. It wasn't bad. Much better than the Shiso flavor that produced last time. It's kind of fruity and might remind you of Cherry Cola.

ペプシがまだ新味を出しました。今回はバオバブ！あのマダガスカールにあるでっかい木！もっと分かりやすくと言えば、星の王子様がいつも手入れしてた木。そのバオバブですよ。悪くない。前回のしそ味より良い。アメリカ人にとってちょっと懐かしい味かも知りません。なんだかチェリ

Day Trip to Yokosuka (Part 3) / 横須賀日帰り旅行 （パート３）

After stuffing ourselves with curry and burgers and other foods, it was time to walk off at least some of the calories. With the festival going on, the entrance fee to the Memorial Ship Mikasa was discounted as well so we had to go check it out.

カレーとバーガーを食べて満腹になったあと、記念艦みかさに行ってみた。フェスティバルが開催してる為、入場金が安くなってました。ラッキー！

It didn't get quite as crowded as the annual Thai Festival which is a good thing as finding a place to eat wasn't all that difficult.

東京で毎年のタイフェスほど込まないので、ゆっきり料理が味わって食べられる。場所取りも不要だし、落ち着いた雰囲気が良い。

You can also tour the inside of the battleship which is set up like a miniature museum. Mikako was getting king of tired so she took a break while I went exploring the rest of the ship.

戦艦の中は小さな博物館みたいな感じで結構面白い。美香子が結構疲れたので、ゆっきりしてる間、僕は戦艦のあちこちを探索しました。

On our way back to Tokyo, we stopped off at a Super Health Center (large public bath house) and enjoyed a relaxing time for an hour or so before making our final journey home. And so ends our day trip to Yokosuka.

東京帰りの途中、スーパー健康ランドに行って、一時間位リラックスしました。お風呂を楽しんだあと、家に行き、それで横須賀日帰り旅行が終了しました。

After enjoying our tour of Sarushima Park and having a Sarushima Beer, it was time to return to Mikasa Park for lunch and to indulge in the different curries at the Curry Festival!

猿島ビールも飲んで、猿島をたっぷり探索したので、三笠公園に戻って、昼食の時間だ。もちろんカレーフェスティバルでいろんなご当地カレーを食べる！

Starting simple with a Tsuchiura Zeppelin Curry Croquette.

After getting our fill of curry, there is one other food item that Yokosuka is well known for. That would be the Yokosuka Navy Burger. As luck would have it, three of the most popular Yokosuka burger shops also had a booth at the curry festival! [Tsunami], [Cantina], and [Honey Bee]. We managed to try the navy burgers from Tsunami and Honey Bee.

カレーをたっぷり食べたあと、横須賀のもう一つの名物料理、横須賀ネイビーバーガーもある。運がよかったので、カレーフェステイバルに横須賀の名店のバーガー屋3店の出店もありました。「Tsunami」、「Cantina」、と「ハニービー」。私たちは「Tsunami」と「ハニービー」のネイビーバーガーも食べました。

Curries and burgers! Does life get any better than this? I think I'm in heaven!

カレーとバーガー！これ以上の幸運ありますかね？天国に居るみたい！

But this is a festival. Which means there is even more than just curries and burgers. And yes, we treated ourselves to some other goodies as well!

カレーとバーガーが最高なんですが、祭りなので、それ以外の食べ物もあるんですよ。私たち、他のものも食べました！

This was interesting, it was something called a curry cheese mok created by a Chinese restaurant in Urayasu.

これは面白かった。浦安にある中華の店「中華末広」がオリジナルで出したカレーチーズモック。B級グルメの流行りがこのままつづけば良いな。

We also snacked on some Korean dishes as well.

韓国料理もありまして、もちろんそれも食べた。

We had us some kimchee flavored pork skewer, chijimi (Korean-style pancakes I guess you could call them), and some kimchee stir-fried noodles!

キムチ味豚串カツ、ちぢみ、とキムチ焼きそばも食べましたよ！

Mos Burger / モス バーガー

Yes, I have featured this burger shop before, but between the dates of June 10 - 28, Mos Burger in collaboration with the news/variety program produced a limited edition burger, it was called Teri Ito's Zaku Zaku Rayu Burger, rayu being a spicy sauce often used in Chinese cuisine.

はい、前にも紹介した日本のバーガーチェン店です。6月10日から6月28日まで、モスバーガーとスッキリのニュース・バライエティ番組のコラボで期間限定バーガーを発売してました。そのバーガーは“テリー伊藤のざくざくラー油バーガー”。バーガーに具たくさんのラー油とひんやりサルラ風ソースをパッティとチーズとトマトに合わせ、素敵で美味しいバーガーが出来上がりました。

Day Trip to Yokosuka (Part 2) / 横須賀日帰り旅行 （パート２）

After having our light breakfast at Zen, it was off to Mikasa Park to catch the boat which will take us to Sarushima Park, the only natural island that remains in the Tokyo Bay according to the sign at the entrance of the island.
