Tokyo Flashback : Company Christmas Party / 東京フラッシュバック：会社のクリスマスパーティー

Wow, it's been a little over three years since I quit my last job. I had started at my previous job in May of 2014. In December, I got to experience my first Office Christmas Party. It was held at a nice place in Shinagawa (I forgot what the name of the place was). What I do remember is that our department was chosen to do the preparations. I was also nominated as one of the emcees for the evening.

うわ～、前の職場からもう三年以上経ってます。その会社は２０１４年５月に入りました。そして年末に初めて会社のクリスマスパーティーに参加。うちの部署が幹事となってます。パーティーは品川に開催されたが、店名はもう忘れた。そうだ、俺が一人の司会者にもなってた。

I would work for this company for three years before deciding to resign and move to Aomori City. 

この会社は三年間勤めて、辞めたあとに青森市に引っ越しました。

Tokyo Flashback : Emergenza Japan 2014 / 東京フラッシュバック：エマージェンザ・ジャパン ２０１４

Tonight, we are in Shibuya not because it is where I work and not because we are here to shop. No, we are here to see our friend participate in the annual Emergenza Festival (pronounced with a soft g like in "giraffe" - Emerjenza). What is the Emergenza Festival? It is a contest for amateur bands. Preliminary competitions take place in cities throughout the world. The finalist of each city will be sent to Germany to perform at one of the summer festivals. Our friend, Yukio plays drums in a band called Tough Box. They are the local favorites or so I'm told by Yukio himself. Tonight is a semi-final round. The winner of tonight's event will go on to play at a bigger venue - On Air East with a chance to go to Germany!

今夜、渋谷に居るのは僕の職場とは関係ありません。いえ、私たちが夜の渋谷に来た理由はエマージェンザ・ジャパンとういうイベントの為。私たちの友達の幸男が参加するバンドのドラマーでもあり。　バンド名はタフ・ボックス。えマージェンザってなに？このフェスは１９９１年のサマーフェスでミュージシャンたちが考えたもの。初フェスは翌年、ローマで開催。フェスが進化して、現在アマチュアバンドの為のフェスになってます。いろんな都市で予選があり、勝ち取ったら、最後はヨーロッパのフェスが参加出来る。今夜は日本の準決勝です。友達が結構勝ってる自信もあり。今夜優勝すると、決勝戦に参加出来得る。決勝戦は８月、渋谷のOn Air Eastで行われる。

As you can see from the schedule, Tough Box hits the stage at 8:00pm. Yukio did tell me that Howling is a heavy metal band so I'm looking for to seeing their set. 

スケジュール見ればタフ・ボックスは８時にステージに出る。幸男が俺に教えたことはHowlingというバンドは完全なメタルバンド。でもちゃんとTough Boxを応援してくれと言われた。
