Asian Yatai Fo / アジアン屋台 フォー

Here's another one of my favorite little noodle shops. This is called the Asian Yatai Fo. They serve pho noodles like the kind you would order at a street stall in Southeast Asia. The smell reminds me of my trips to Thailand and Laos. And the noodles? Oh, you must try them. This little shop is located next to a McDonald's near the entrance of the Sangenjaya subway station. The shop has room for maybe a maximum of 8 people. You can also order Thai-style green curry and a few other dishes as well. But I always end up ordering the chicken and vegetable pho. Delicious. The shop also has the condiments as you would find in Southeast Asia - nampra (stinky fish sauce - stinky is just a matter of opinion though), red chillies, some other spicy sauce, and sugar (yes, I said sugar. And they really do add it to their noodles.!)

またも、お気に入りのラーメン屋を紹介します。今回はラーメンとゆうより、東南アジアの人気麺、フォーの店です。店の名前は「アジアン屋台フォー」。店から出てくる香りがタイとラオスを思い出す。で、この店の麺？食べてみるべきです。場所は田園都市線、三軒茶屋駅前。マックドナルドの隣。店は小さいけど、メニューはフォーだけじゃなく、グリーンカレーや麻婆豆腐もある。でも、自分がこの店に行くと、いつも同じ物を注文する。それは鶏肉・野菜のフォー。東南アジアでおなじみの香辛料も置いてある‐ナンプラ、唐辛子、他のスパイシーなもの、と砂糖。

I'm Hungry for Curry / カレー食べたい

So, I thought I'd give you a tiny peak at the process. Here's the curry that's simmering. Mikako will let it simmer for about 4 or 5 hours. Chicken slides right off the bones when you simmer it for that amount of time, but yum! But we had pasta this evening.

それで、美香子が家で作ってるカレーをちょっとのぞいって見ましょう。４、５時間位煮込むよ。チキンが超柔らくなってる。美味しいです。でも今夜はパスタでした。

And here's the final product. I will probably won't get a chance to eat before leaving for the States next week. Oh well. I will keep you posted on our upcoming trip.

出来上がり。でもアメリカに帰る前に食べられないなと思う。仕方がない。来週の金曜日はアメリカ行きです。近づいたら、また、お知らせのポストをアップします。

Maze Soba Stamina / まぜそばスタミナ

Since we ate out all day the previous day, we decided to have a simple dinner today. My choice for today was this Maze Soba Stamina. Its noodles without any soup broth included a spicy, garlicky sauce.

前の日はずーと外食だったので、今日の夕飯はシンプルで。僕が選んだのはまぜそばスタミナ。これは汁無しの麺です。スパイシーとにんにく味。結構美味しかった。

Here's a post for all you sweet-tooths out there (and that means you too Dad). A new cake shop has opened in our neighborhood and we bought a few cakes. They were all delicious. Not very sweet, but once you taste the desserts from this shop, you will want to go back.

甘い物好きの人たちの為のポスト（特に僕のお父さん）。近所に新しいケーキ屋が出来たので、４種類も買いました。全品美味しかった。甘さ控えめなんですが、食べたら、この店のとりこになりますよ。

Namaste India Festival 2008 / ナマステ インド フェス ２００８

Summer may be over but that doesn't mean its the end of Festival season. Just the week before at the same location was the Vietnam festival (which we missed out on). But hey, India festival, there is bound to be some delicious curry so of course we went. As we were rather late in deciding to go or not, this time there were four of us to try the various culinary delights. Actually, three of us, as the fourth member showed up after we were full. But as we arrived early, we decided to check out the various shopping stalls first. Mikako wanted to stock up on more incense (which can be got for very cheap at these festivals). We also found a couple of interior items that we thought were pretty cool.

夏が終わったかも知りませんが、祭りが終わってる訳ではない。一週間前、同じ場所でベイトナム祭りが開催された（残念ながら、そっちのほうは行かなかった）。でも、インドフェスって言えば、美味しいカレーはかならずあるでしょう。行くのを決めたのはちょっと遅めだったので、今回の参加人数はたったの四人。正しくと言えば、３人。４人目が来た時はもう満腹でした。僕と美香子が会場にちょっと早めに着いたので、食べる前に、いろんなブースを回って、軽く買い物しました。美香子が大量にお香を買いました。だって、一箱１００円でした。面白そうなインテリアグッズもあって、それも買いました。

Of course, what you're all waiting for is the food and I wouldn't want to disappoint you. We still managed a fair amount of variety between the three of us.

And after eating our fair share, the conversation turned to travel and right then and there, we decided that the four of us would travel to India next year (sometime in September). We intend to see the Taj Mahal along with Delhi and Jaipur. We're going to make it happen!

で、食べながら、話が盛り上がって、今回の参加メンバーで来年インド行くことに決定。９月位に計画を立てます。タージ・マハールはもちろん。それ以外にデリーとジャイプールを考えてます。絶対実行させてみせます！

And then we walked around some more and checked out some traditional Indian arts booths.

My Sister / 私の妹

I know my sister likes being featured in my blog every now and then. She sent me this picture of her with a cake given to her by her co-workers for her up-coming wedding. See ya in a few weeks Sis.
