A Walk around Rokakoshunen Park (Part 1) / 蘆花恒春園の散歩 （パート１）

A couple of weeks ago as I head out to Roka Koen Station on the Odakyu line to have lunch at Ivan's Ramen, I decided to walk around that neighborhood and check out the park the station was named after. But I discovered the park is located twenty-minutes away on foot.

二週間前に小田急線の芦花公園駅までランチをアイバンラーメンに食べに行ったあと、芦花公園駅の由来の芦花公園を探索しおうと思った。近くと思ったら、公園は結構駅から離れてると気付いた。徒歩で20分位かな。

The first point of interest I came across before finding the park was the Setagaya Literary Museum. It looked interesting but I only poked my head for a few minutes before continuing on my way.

公園に着く前にまた面白そうな施設を発見。世田谷文学館。ちょこっと入ってのぞきましたが、そのまま出て公園のほうに向かった。

As I was getting closer to the park, I found a sign at a bus station showing nine areas that were listed as part of Setagaya Ward's 100 Scenic Spots. Roka Koen was listed as one of them.

公園に近付くと、あるバス亭に周りの９ヶ所の世田谷百景が表示してた。芦花公園もその一つでした。

And finally, I found myself to the entrance of Roka Koen, or rather it's official name of Roka Koshun-en Park, listed as No.39 of Setagaya Ward's 100 Scenic Spots along with Hachiman Shrine.

やっと芦花公園にたどりついた。公園の正式名は「蘆花恒春園」と分かった。この公園は八幡一帯と世田谷百景の３９番になっております。

Entering the park from the Seimon (Main Gate), you first find yourself in a bamboo grove.

正門から入ると、最初目にするのは竹林。

If you read the sign at the entrance, you will know that this park was named after a writer named Kenjiro Tokutomi who wrote under the pen name of Roka Tokutomi. A replica of his home can be found here as well.

入り口のサインを読みましたら、公園の由来は作家の徳冨健次郎、蘆花はペンネーム。蘆花の住まいがここに再現されてる。
