It's that time of year again. The annual Thai Festival sponsored by the Thai Embassy and held at Yoyogi Park on the 16th and 17th. I've been going to this festival every year since it started - and this is the 10th annual one! Well hey, since I can't make it to the Bite of Seattle or Taste of Tacoma every year, I had to find some alternatives.
These tuk-tuks or Thai taxis always remind me of the times I've been to Bangkok - which would be three, twice as a stopover before heading my way to Laos but that's another story.

今年もやってきました。代々木公園で開催されたタイ祭り２００９年。今年で１０回目です。僕は初の祭りから毎年行ってます。

Mikako and I and my friend Suga went early (about 9:30am) to pick a prime spot before the place gets too crowded. Our other friends would be showing up around noon or later. But we were surprised to find other people already picking out prime spots before us. So, the three of us went and bought a variety of food and some Singha beer to start off today's festivities.
僕と美香子ともう一人の友達が場所取りの為に早い時間に出掛けた。会場に着いたら、私たちより早く来たお客さんが何人も先に居て、びっくりしましたよ。だて、朝九時半に行きましたよ。ま、まだ込んでないから、気軽に食べ物とビールを買いました。皆が来る前に三人にシンハビールで乾杯。
And now for what you've all been waiting for - the food. I must admit, I had some help with the Thai names of the food from my friend Janet who currently lives in Bangkok (Thank you!) but a lot of the food will be familiar to you with their English names.
