Beer Kitchen Aoshima /

Before I relate to you all about our walk around the Hama Rikkyu Gardens and the Tokyo Tower at night, I shall share with you our lunch we had at the Beer Kitchen Aoshima in the World Trade Center in Hamamatsucho (and no, it isn't 110 stories).

We checked out all the restaurants in B1 and this place had the best choice. Meat dishes for less than 1000yen and a fine selection of beers. I chose the beef stew with bread while Mikako ordered the sirloin steak with rice. And what would we be doing in a Beer Kitchen without ordering any beer. I tried the Lion's Stout from Sri Lanka and ordered a glass of Paulener Weisen from Germany for Mikako (of course I drank most of it).

Bon Appetit!

I am so jealous that you have world beers!
I thought of you yesterday when I went back to Mosburger--a place whose only needed improvement would be the addition of beer. Also wished you were around when I had sushi recently and the set included kimchee(!) Is that a normal addition that I'm too American to take in stride?

A sushi set with kimchee? Nope, you won't find that at an regular sushi restaurants over here. You would also love the Belgian Beer bar that stocks over a hundred different beers, as well as Billy Barew's Beer Pub - more incentive to come to Tokyo. (^o^)/

As soon as I get my next paycheck I'm going up to the Japanese neighborhood on Sukhumwit and have some true sushi, but have found I can't eat it alone--even the Thai-style kind. It makes me remember trips to sushi places in the ID with Matt and Nick and then I get teary and have to hope people think it's because of too much wasabi!
