On Friday, August 1st, I took Mikako out to see a movie for her birthday (her birthday was the day before but we were both working.) The first of the month is also "Movie Day" so the price of films at most theaters are 1000yen. That's 800yen cheaper then regular price. We went to see the new Hayao Miyazaki film "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea". It's not "My Neighbor Totoro" but you can still recognize it as a Studio Ghibli film. When the movie ended, it was dinner time and we decided to eat out. Mikako had been wanting to eat some Chinese noodles for a while and we had come across this ramen shop on one of our walks (where I also discovered Manuel - the Portuguese restaurant). This is a chain shop but I found the ramen to be delicious. The featured summer menu was something called Soo Rah Tan Men which also looked very appetising but I opted for the Tokusen Chuka-Soba. We also ordered a side of gyoza filled with meat but it was just average.金曜日に美香子の誕生日の為に映画に連れて行ってあげました（毎月の一日も映画の日で１０００円だ！）。美香子の誕生日も前の日でしたけど、お互い仕事だったので。観に行った映画は宮崎駿の最新作「崖の上のポニョ」。「となりのトトロ」ほどではないが、やっぱスタジオジブリの作品だな。映画が終わったら、ちょうどう夕飯の時間でした。美香子は前から昔風の中華そばが食べたくて、以前渋谷の散歩中にそれがある店を発見、チェン店の「ちりめん亭」。その時ポルトガル料理店の「マニュエル」も発見しました。今「ちりめん亭」のおすすめ品は「酢辣湯麺」‐スーラータンメン。美味しそうに見えましたが、自分が注文したのは特選中華そば（７３０円）。とっても美味しかった。サイドに肉餃子も頼みましたが、普通でした。ま、まずいよりましでしょう。
