Tokyo Flashback : Cafe and Wine Dining [Rainbow] / 東京フラッシュバック：「レインボー」カフェ＆ワイン ダイニング

I thought for sure that this place would be out of business by now but when I checked Google's Street Map, I'm happy to say they are still in business. My wife and I went here once about seven years ago when we were still living in Sangenjaya. It was a new restaurant back then. We went to [Rainbow] for lunch. 

この飲食店はもう潰れたたと想ったが、グーグルストレートマップで見たら、まだ営業中でした。僕と妻が約７年前にこの店に行った。当時は三茶に新しく出来たレストランでした。名前は「レインボー」。私たちはランチを食べに行った。

The first thing we did was check the lunch menu. The bottom two items had a reasonable price. A skirt steak and spare ribs. The lunch set includes salad, soup and a choice of bread or baguette. 

最初にチェックしたのはランチメニュー。国産和牛ステーキ以外の値段がお手頃でしたので、確かそれを注文した。セットにサラダ・スープとライスorバゲット付き。

It looks like I ordered a beer with my lunch. A Fuller's ESB from the U.K. 

ランチにビールを頼んだみたいですね。イギリスのFuller's ESB。

My wife ordered the skirt steak with rice.

It would have been nice to have gone to this restaurant again but unfortunately, this was the one and only time we went.

Tokyo Flashback : Urayasu Three Shrine Pilgrimage / 東京フラッシュバック：浦安三神巡り

Having a beer at the Urayasu City Folk Museum before checking out the local shrines. 

浦安市郷土博物館でビールを飲んで、そのあとに浦安神社巡りを開始する。

The first of the three shrines we visited was the Toyouke Shrine. This is the torii 

浦安三社で最初にお参りしたのは豊受神社。

The two pictures above are of the komainu often called lion-dogs in English can be found at Shinto shrines in front of the honden to ward off evil spirits.

Next on our pilgrimage was the Asama Shrine. 

次お参りした神社は浅間神社。

We followed this path to yet another shrine. 

この小道を進んだら、また別の神社に辿り着く。

Well, this is strange. The Internet site shows that the name of this shrine is Asama Shrine. However, if you read the sign below, it says it's to be read as "Sengen Shrine". 

あれ、なんか不思議。ネット上で浅間神社は”あさまじんじゃ”でなってるが、下記のサインを見ると読み方は”せんげんじんじゃ”となってる。

Look, there's a small shrine at the top of the hill. 

見て、頂上に小さな神社が建ってる。

Before heading to the station to go home, we went to a ramen shop called [Takashiya] for lunch. 

駅行く前に「たかし屋」というラーメン屋でランチを食べた。

I ordered the chashu-men. 

自分が注文したのはチャーシュー麺。

I think my wife ordered the regular ramen. 

妻が多分普通のラーメンを注文した。

And then we parted ways with Reiko and went home. And so ended our Silver Week mini-vacation.

ラーメンを食べ終わったら、玲ちゃんと別れ、私たちはうちに帰りました。そしてシルバーウィーク旅の幕が閉じた。/>
