Tokyo Flashback : YG Family Concert World Tour 2014 ~Power~ in Japan / 東京フラッシュバック：YG ファミリー・ワールドツアー ２０１４～パワー～inジャパン

In case you don't know, YG is a Korean record label Its roster features such international acts like Bigbang, 2NE1, and Psy who had the international hit with "Gangnam Style". Almost every year, the artists on the label will tour the world together. This year, the headliner's of course were Bigbang, my wife's current favorite artist). Other acts on the bill were Psy, 2NE1, Epik High, Lee Hi, Akdong Musician, Winner, and Team B whose name was later changed to iKon. I think this was my second time seeing Bigbang. I'm not really a big fan but I went because my wife didn't want to go to the show alone. However, I was looking forward to seeing 2NE1.

知らない人がいるかも知りませんので、YGは韓国のレコードレーベルです。レーベルに所属してるアーティストは国際的でも有名なビッグバン、Psy, 2NE1など。ほぼ毎年、YGレーベルが所属してるアーティストのツアーを行ってます。YG ファミリーツアーで名づけられてる。今年のYGファミリーツアーを参加してるアーティストはもちろんビッグバン。そのほかはPsy, 2NE1, Epik High, Leehi, Akdong Musician, WinnerとTeam B。Team B はあとからiKonで命名された。自分はビッグバンのファンでもないんですが、妻の付き合いで、ライブに行った。ま、個人的に楽しみにしてたのは2NE1。

We had time to eat lunch before heading to the Tokyo Dome so we went to our neighborhood pizza place called Poco. Actually, I think my wife had to work in the morning and I went here on my own.

東京ドーム行く前に時間があったので、近所の小さなピザ屋「ポコ」でランチを食べた。確か妻は午前中バイトだったので、一人で行った気がする。

ピザとサラダを共に食べた。２種類のピザを注文した。

This one is called the Capricciosa. It consists of shrimp, sausage, zucchini, paprika, olives, Asiago cheese, and Parmigiano cheese.

一つのピザは具たくさんの”カプリチョーザ”。これはエビ、ソーセージ、ズッキーニ、パプリカ、オリーブ、アジアーゴチーズとパルミジャニーノ。

The other pizza I ordered was the "Fungi". This is a mushroom pizza. It is made with porcini, brown mushrooms, eringi, and shimeji mushrooms with a cream sauce and Asiago and Parmegiano cheese.

もう一つのピザはキノコクリームピザ。具はポルチーニ茸、ブラウンマッシュルーム、エリンギ、シメジ、生クリーム、アジアーゴチーズとパルミジャニーノ。

After my wife came back from work, we went to the Tokyo Dome.

妻がバイトから戻ってから東京ドームを目指した。

We saw a lot of fans dressed as their favorite artists.

Then there were these cute kids. Uh...what's wrong with that girl's foot?

そしてこの可愛い二人が居た。えぇ？？彼女の足はどうなってる？

We had time to kill before the door would open so we took a walk around the Tokyo Dome.

開場まで時間があったので東京ドーム周辺を歩き回った。

We spotted this guy not too far from the Dome.

There is a Moomin Cafe at the Tokyo Dome.

And then it was time to enjoy the show.

I'm still not a hardcore fan of K-Pop (Korean pop music), but I really enjoyed the show. It was very entertaining. And seeing 2NE1 was a bonus for me. My wife of course was excited about the entire show. And that was the end of one exciting day.

いまでも自分は熱狂的なKポップファンではないが、ライブがすごく楽しめた。特に２NE１が見れて良かった。妻はもちろんずーと興奮してた。そして楽し日が幕を閉じた。

Tokyo Flashback : Yakiniku Restaurant [Totenkaku] / 東京フラッシュバック：焼肉レストラン「とうてんかく」

When I was working in Kawasaki, I had the pleasure of working with a nice group of women. One evening after work, we all went out for some Korean barbecue at a yakiniku restaurant called [Totenkaku].

川崎に働いった頃素敵な女性たちと一緒に仕事してました。ある日、みんなで川崎の韓国村みたいなところで焼肉レストランの「とうてんかく」に行きました。

Starting off with an assortment of kimchi.

最初に出たのはキムチいろいろ。

Her name is Akemi. She left the company before I did.

彼女の名前はあけみ。僕より先会社を退社した。

I must say it was a fun night. I really enjoyed working with the people at this company. I just wasn't suited to the job I was doing. I left after three years.

同僚とは仲良く楽しく会話してましたが、実際の仕事にはむいてなかったので、僕は２０１６年に退社しました。

Tokyo Flashback : Macklemore & Ryan Lewis / 東京フラッシュバック：マックルモア＆ライアン・ルイス

Okay, so you're probably wondering why hard rockin', heavy metal lovin' me is at a Macklemore & Ryan Lewis show. Well, do you know their hit song "Thrift Shop"? That song and the promotional video features one other musician - Wanz. You see Wanz is the younger brother of one of my former co-workers back when I was working for Tower Books in my hometown of Tacoma. I know him as Michael. Anyway, Wanz was invited by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis on their world tour in 2014 and Japan was one of the countries they came to. I gladly guided the Wanz around Tokyo. In return, he added me and my wife to the guest list for the show. My wife and I listened to the song he's featured in a few times. I was still a newbie at my job so couldn't leave until 6:00pm. The show was to be held at Shibuya-Ax. I was currently working in Kawasaki and wasn't sure if I would make it on time for the start of the show. After work, I met up with my wife and we went to the venue. We got there a little late (it took more than an hour from my workplace to Shibuya-Ax) and much to our dismay, we missed out on Macklemore performing "Thrift Shop" which means we also missed the Wanz! However, since the Wanz was kind enough to invite us, we stayed for the remainder of the show.

さて、ロックとメタル好きな俺はなぜマックルモア＆ライン・ルイスのライブに行ったか？ 彼らの曲"スリフト・ショップ”ご存知ですか？その曲とその曲のPVにもう一人のミュージシャンが参加してる。名前はワンズ。ワンズは僕の仕事先同僚の弟です。初めて会った時はマイケルで紹介された。マイケル（ワンズ）はマックルモアの誘いから、彼の世界ツアーに参加してた。一つの公演はなんと日本にある東京でした！ワンズが日本に来た時、僕が一日ご案内と通訳してあがた。そのお返しに僕と妻を東京公演のライブに招待してくれた。当時僕は川崎で働いて、新しい職場だったので、簡単に休みことは出来なかった。会場は渋谷AXにあるため、僕が仕事終わってから行くことになった。でも職場は川崎駅の近辺ではなかったので、職場から渋谷AXまでは一時間以上をかかる。仕事上がって、妻と合流して、会場に向かった。開演は６時から最初からライブは見れないと覚悟してた。会場に着いたら残念なことにワンズの出番はもうすぎて、私たちはステージ上の彼を見られませんでした。せっかくライブに招待してくれたので、最後までライブを見た。

I can't remember if it was after the show or the next day, but my wife and I decided to grab a bite to eat at [Pepper Lunch].

ライブ終了後か翌日、覚えてないが、妻と一緒に「ペッパーランチ」行って食べた。

I miss [Pepper Lunch]. We went there quite frequently. 

「ペッパーランチ」たまに恋しくなる。良くそこ食べに行った。
